People Are Unbelievable

After reading the wonderful article that was published by my local newspaper the excitement was squashed. On line people are able to comment about the issues that are published on a daily basis. To my surprise an extremely bitter and angry woman made a post that was...lets just say NOT NICE! She basically focused on what someone sees and not the substance of the person. She decided to personally attack me and my causes so much to the point that she wished I got cancer and wished that I would hurry up and get it so I could fight for my own personal cause.

I am saddened that someone would have so much hate in their heart to attack someone they don't even know who is trying to do something good in the world not based on how she looks but actually on their merit, love, and drive to make a difference in others lives. It amazes me that assumptions are made by others who have no idea how hard you have worked to be where you are or what type of upbringing you had.

I definately did not have a childhood that was beautiful like a rainbow and I was surely picked on my fare share.

I feel sorry for this person in that she is raising a daughter and has so much bitterness in her heart. I don't care how much you dislike something or someone, you never wish ill will.

Lesson learned, there are always going to be people to take shots at you whether you are on top or at the bottom. It's those that you surround yourself with that matter and that truly care to know the person you really are.

For all of my sister queens; I hope you never have to read such an item as I did!

Hugs,

JC

BOA National Candids

Sunday Morning

Well to my surprise I was awakened by my son yelling throughout the house "mom you're in the newspaper, mom you're in the newspaper!" I was so excited to see the article that Holly wrote covering my achievement as America's 30's national queen.

Here is the article which I am extremely grateful for! But I do have to make 2 corrections which will be restated in the paper later this week. It is not my brother that was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, it was my father-in-law and my official title is not Mrs. America, it is America's 30's BOA!

Enjoy the article!

John DeGraff and Take Back Your Time Initiative

Well, after forwarding the news to almost everyone I know I was e-mailed with a pleasant surprise. John De Graaf who is the founder of Timeday.org and the Take Back Your Time Initiative e-mailed his excitement of my win and asked me to put together a paragraph about the pageant and being crowned the new America 30's National Queen to be published nationally in the next newsletter for Timeday.org.

Many of you may not know, but I had the pleasure of sharing my story nationally through Timeday.org and the Take Back Your Time Initiative in October 2008; which has been instrumental to who I am today. If I didn't have the honor of sharing my story and how I fugured out the importance of family I would have never been able to get over my past and not let it determine my future.

I'll be sure to post the new article as soon as it is published! If you would like to read about my story go to http://www.timeday.org/ click on newsletters, and select October 2008.

Happy Reading!

After the WIN!

I cannot believe that I was able to accomplish winning the America's 30's - Beauties of America title. This year as California's 30's has been an exciting one and I have been able to be a part of amazing things throughout the year. From publishing my story nationally with Timeday.org to helping on an Extreme Home Makeover with Scott Cross Homes and everything between. If I were not in that position I would have never been able to participate in events such as those.

As for my year as America's 30's, I am looking forward to what this journey may bring, the people that I will meet, and the differences in the lives of others that I will make. I am dedicating my reign to my father-in-law who is fighting cancer. He is a true inspiration to me and reminds me how precious life is and how quickly it can change. When I think that I am having a bad day, I remember that it could be worse.

To all of the women that I met this weekend; you are all amazing. Continue to follow your dreams and enjoy the journey that is given to you! I have been presented this opportunity for a reason and plan to hold on tight and enjoy the ride.

Luv,

JC
